A unique fresh
tissue cadaveric dissection course to be held at Glasgow University,
27th – 28th March 2008. The course will
appeal to trainees and consultants in plastic surgery, ENT, and
ophthalmology who have an interest in the surgery of facial
paralysis. A national faculty of experts will demonstrate current
techniques with 2 candidates to each cadaver, including:

Endoscopic forehead and brow lift
-
Insertion
of gold weight and canthoplasty techniques
-
Nerve
grafting, including nerve harvest and exposure of facial nerve
-
Static
support techniques of the midface including fascia lata slings and
face-lift techniques
-
Facial
nerve to hypoglossal nerve anastamosis
This new
course will allow a maximum hands-on experience involving
instruction in current techniques of surgery in facial paralysis
using fresh tissues.
